About Vampire Knight
Vampire Knight is a shoujo manga being authored and drawn by Hino Matsuri. It takes place in a school named Cross Academy, in the official translation of Viz Media, or Kurosu Academy, in the early scanlations. You are taken to the world of Yuuki Cross/Kurosu, the adoptive daughter of the school’s chairman. She is a prefect of the school, together with Zero Kiryuu, Yuuki’s childhood friend.
Cross Academy is made up of two groups: they Day Class wherein Yuuki, Zero, and most of the student body belong. And the Night Class, considered as beautiful people by the Day Class for their looks and being considered as the school’s treasures. But little do they know that these beautiful creatures are actually vampires. Even teachers and staff do not know of this. Yuuki and Zero are tasked by the Chairman to protect and guard this very deep secret of their school, being disguised as prefects so as not to raise suspicion.
Kaname Kuran/Clan, a part of the Night Class and considered as their leader, seeing that he’s the only person the Night Class wholeheartedly listens to, and one of the very few purebloods left, is also revealed to have saved Yuuki back when she was a child from a Level E vampire, thus making Yuuki feel indebted to him and also, in love or infatuated as well.
As the story progresses, more secrets are revealed and the plot definitely gets thicker and thicker… drawing you into the intricately weaved story of Vampire Knight.
